The Belgian producer injects the summer’s sound with his latest hard-hitting rave release.

Amsterdam, May 29 - Pegassi zooms in on the darker edges of his sound with 'Upclose', a sleek and atmospheric new single out today via Live From Earth, the Berlin-based label known for bridging underground credibility with mainstage instincts. The Belgian DJ and producer has become one of the most exciting new names in Europe's renowned club circuit, making waves with each release through a sound that's equal parts forceful, playful, and unmistakably his. Following his recent set at Upclose by Awakenings, where he went b2b with Anetha in front of a packed field, 'Upclose' adds another surge to his ongoing storm of releases, pulling broken beats, hard-hitting rave energy, and clean-lined production aesthetics into a meticulously built dancefloor weapon.
'Upclose' fits neatly into the musical world Pegassi has been building across his recent run: club music with impact, personality, and a penchant for detail. The track is turbulent from the get-go, built on pulsing basslines, sharp percussion, and mid-range synths that give the record its harsher bite. Airy vocal harmonies float through the track with a clean, almost weightless quality, making the record feel full without ever crowding the mix. A breaksy shift in the second build brings a dynamic kick, priming the record as a true dancefloor moment. It feels as controlled as it is volatile, resulting in the off-kilter character that defines Pegassi's strongest work.
The announcement lands off the back of a strong start to 2026. Most recently, Pegassi recorded his first Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1, a milestone that marks his arrival in a select tier of electronic artists. Before that, 'MOAA', short for Mother of All Anthems, arrived in March as one of the most searched IDs in his recent sets, and has quickly established itself as one of his most-played tracks of the festival season. It followed '227kg', which crossed close to 4.5 million streams in under four months and brought his signature bell motif to a much wider audience.
The new single follows the March release of 'MOAA', adding to a run that has seen Pegassi shift from rising talent to one of the more closely watched artists in the global scene. That momentum carries into a packed summer schedule, kicking off tonight with his Sweet Nothing showcase at E1 in London, before Tomorrowland, Awakenings Festival, Pukkelpop, and Hive Festival among the highlights, alongside a Teletech takeover at Amnesia Ibiza and a run through Asia taking in Hong Kong, China, and Singapore. Away from the road, Pegassi recently recorded his first Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1, and this week announced an eight-hour all-day set at Hemkade for ADE 2026 in October
